My school life
Hello everyone, my name is Andrew. I end my primary school study this year with online classes, now, I study in Globe junior high school, for me it’s the start of a new term, a start of a three-year journey and the start of a promising future! I can’t wait to describe to you what junior high school is like.
First, the hope of my junior high school life. I hope my school life is rich and full, so that everyday is meaningful, but I don’t want my school life to be too tiring, and it is a good study place for me. And I hope I can have growth, new knowledge, new ways of thinking, new friends and to develop my potential.
Second, difference between junior high school and elementary school. Do you find some difference? (answer) The first difference, subjects. In the junior high school, we get more subjects. And it adds some more interesting subjects, like: deep topics, science. Deep topics is to make a speech, that you must search many information to write your drafts first and prepare the PPT for your speech, I enjoy that. In science there are many subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geography. Therefore, we get more homework, it’s a little difficult compared with the elementary school’s homework. I like Math best, I think variable “X”, “Y” is very interesting, and I like to calculate every equation and ratio. So that my grade is high, I think it makes me earn respect from classmates. When some classmates didn’t understand some question, they may be asked me. The next difference, is the club. We have more clubs, I joined the USAP and the table tennis. They both have match to play. That will make me know more things about the world. The last difference is the autonomy. Autonomy means someone study or clean or do something every day without reminding or pushing, never change. The autonomy is a very important ability for a junior high school student.
Third, living at school. Anyone living at school now or before? (answer) Living at school is a very special experience for me. We get up at around 6: 00 A.M. and go to bed at around 9:40 P.M. And we must clean our dormitory every day, to wash your body and wash your face and clean your teeth. There is always something interesting going on. If you don’t wash feet, teacher will come and say: “Ok, you’ll have grade ‘C’” Then we go to bath room quickly. “Ok! Teacher! Ok!”. I usually finish homework in dormitory, put my book on bed and I crawl on the bed, then begin to write until teacher come and say: “Quickly! Only 10 minutes left!” Then I put my homework into place in a hurry and go to bathroom and take my shower. The last interesting thing is in the morning. I am awakened by the voice and knock of my teacher every day. And my friends usually exclaim with the shining light. “Ouch, my eyes!” There are so many enjoyable things. When you live at school, you’ll find it!
Fourth, my friends. The first one I’ll talk about is our monitor Mr. Xiong. He has many good study habits, like taking down important notes, and if he has some questions, he’ll ask teacher without being shy. Next one, Mr. Shen, his study is good and he likes watching anime, and we usually play basketball at the playground. Third one, Mr. Cheng, he is not like the other boys—he likes pink, and he is innocent, and sometimes he has no idea about it. I also have many friends, Mr. Lang, Mr. Lu……
At last, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” You need to make a continues effort to train your mind and develop your character. In junior high school, I’ll grow with my friends!

THE FUR TRADE
Hello, everyone!Today I will talk about the fur trade in Canada. Please listen to me carefully, I will ask you some questions.
Near the Newfoundland, there are a lot of codfish in the ocean. Therefore, every year in summer, many fishermen would come to this land and catch the fish to sell or eat. However, First Nations People who lived in the Newfoundland did not like them, and two groups did not trust each other.
The Europeans used the iron to make beautiful beads, tools and pots, and the First Nations People had animal furs that they scraped from the beavers and wild animals. They all wanted the things that others made. Hence, they began to trade.
Now, let me tell you how the First Nations People made the perfect beaver furs.
Firstly, the hunters would set the traps to catch the beavers, especially near the beaver dams. Secondly, they would kill the beavers which were hunted. After the slaughter, the women who worked in the villages would scraped and stretched the beaver furs.
Then, the fur traders would come and trade tools, weapons or medicine for the furs.
After the fur traders got the beaver furs, they would go back to the trading posts. The beaver furs would be loaded onto ships and transported to European countries to sell.
As time passed by, the fur traders from many countries came to the trading posts and brought the beaver furs back to sell for Europeans. This is because they thought the hats made of beaver furs are very fashionable, almost every man would wear the felt hat to show their handsome appearance (maybe not).
This was the greatest fur trade in early Canada. It played a significant role in Canada’s history which was the economical foundation of New France and propelled the development of North America in economical, political aspects and race relationships.
Thanks for your listening! Now, I have three questions for you:
The first one is “What is the second step to make beaver furs? ”
The second questions is “ After the beaver furs were taken to European countries, what will happen?”
The third one is “ If you were a fur trader, how would you promote your beaver furs for Europeans ? ”
That’s all. Do you have any questions or suggestions?
The War Between British and France
Hello everyone! My name is Angel. I am so glad to be here to introduce myself. I am 12 years old and I come from Class Gu Grade 7. Now I will talk something about the war between the British and French.
By the time of middle 1700s, New France was at the height of its power. However powerful British colonies surrounded New France. To the north, the British colony in Newfoundland flourished, this is because of the fur trade. To the south, strong settlements had grown along the Atlantic coast in what is now the United States.
The British wanted to control North America. Hence, French and English were at war all the time. They fought on land and at sea. Sometimes, the French would win the battle. At other times, the English would win. Nonetheless the war continued through early 1700s. The battle that decided which country would control North America only lasted for 15 minutes. The battlefield was moved to Plain of Abraham in Quebec 1759.
All of that summer, the British General James Wolfe had tried to climb the cliffs and attack Quebec. Marquis de Montcalm was French general had defended the city.
Eventually, General Wolfe’s officers proposed a surprise attack method. During the night on September 12th. General Wolfe’s soldiers stealthily climbed up the cliffs to the Plain of Abraham. When the French soldiers woke up the next morning, they were moved and shocked by the sight of thousands of soldiers on the Plains of Abraham.
The French soldiers had learned to fight from Iroquois. They could fight well in the jungle, on account that they could hide in the trees. whereas they did not know how to fight on an open battlefield. The well-trained British soldiers defeated the French army in a short time.
By the end of 1759. the British had also defeated the French at Montreal. New France was finished. The British now controlled Canada.
To sum up, it describes the battle between British and the French to take control of Canada.
Thanks for your listening!
